NMCI Cork visit 10 January 2008

Appointment
We are pleased to announce that Petria McDonnell, former President of the Irish Maritime Law Association, has been appointed as a Circuit Court Judge. It is a rare honour for a solicitor to be appointed directly to the Bench and Petria's appointment reflects the high esteem in which she is held. Petria is internationally recognised as a leading expert of maritime law and will continue as a member of the executive committee of the IMLA.

Appointment
We are pleased to announce that Eamonn Magee a member of the executive committee of the Irish Maritime Law Association has been appointed a vice-president of IUMI (International Union of Marine Insurers). This is a singular honour for Eamonn and an appropriate recognition of the valuable work which he has carried out for IUMI and the depth of knowledge which he has brought to bear in that capacity over the past number of years.
